1970 Austin 1300GT, built at Longbridge, Birmingham, and registered in April 1971.

The hugely successful ADO16 group of vehicles was a product of BMC (by 1970 British Leyland), with production running 1963-1974, and approximately 2.1 million cars sold in many countries. Built in numerous plants worldwide, ADO16 was sold under various brand names. In the UK they were branded Austin, Morris, MG, Wolseley and Riley. Austin is perhaps the best known of the marques and the only one that offered an ADO16 variant for the full duration of production.

The car shown here is a Mark 2 (1967–1971) Austin 1300GT (1275cc A-Series I4 engine). GT models were somewhat better appointed with vinyl roof and black metal side strip. The ADO16 range was replaced by the ADO67 range (Allegro) in 1974.
